Uruk-Hai, in the realm of Middle-earth, represent a superior breed of Orcs.

They first appear prominently in The Lord of the Rings. Created by Saruman in Isengard and potentially by Sauron, they are stronger, larger, and more disciplined than their Orcish counterparts.

Unlike common Orcs, Uruk-Hai can withstand sunlight, making them more effective warriors at any time of day. They are characterized by their black skin, broad faces, and straight legs.

Saruman used Uruk-Hai to build his army, sending them to hunt down the Fellowship of the Ring and conquer Rohan.
